Farm Highlight: Winter Moon Farm

Have you every wondered who grows those enormous, unbelievably sweet carrots you’ve been getting every week? It’s Michael Docter of Winter Moon Farm in Hadley. He grows not only organic carrots, but also potatoes, beets, turnips, celeriac, and the exciting watermelon radishes in the box this week! Winter Moon grows primarily root vegetables to keep us eating local all winter long. Their computer-aided root storage barn keeps the vegetables fresh, crisp and delicious. Besides selling through Valley Green Feast, Winter Moon is also a mainstay at the Northampton Winter Farmers market, and sells to various stores and institutions including Smith College.
