Pedal People- Our Northampton Delivery Squad

Coming soon to neighborhood near you- local foods delivery by bicycle! Part of our mission at VGF is to reduce pollution and use of fossil fuels associated with our food system. What better way to do this than to partner with Pedal People, a Northampton based, bicycle-powered hauling and delivery service!

Pedal People, a fellow Worker-Owned Cooperative business, delivers orders to most of our Northampton customers using bikes and bike trailers. Pedal People was founded by Ruthy Woodring and Alex Jarrett in December of 2002. The Cooperative now has 11 active worker-owners, who work year round in all weather conditions. They haul garbage and recycling to the Northampton transfer center, help people move, and have hauled all kinds of objects including a 100 sq. ft. greenhouse! Their bike trailers are made by the Bikes at Work Company in Ames, Iowa, and can haul up to 300 lbs. For more information about Pedal People, please see their website: www.pedalpeople.com.
